Unfortunately page 1 is missing one piece of information  the employer&#8217;s state ID number. I have gone around with NY&#8217;s Tax department, they are very nice but say they can&#8217;t help me. I tied the company and got no where.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m not sure how to treat this. </p>
<p>My clients were MFJ. The husband died in 2019 and someone else did their taxes that year. The wife came back to me in 2020 and this year(2021) she has a 2021 1099-R for him in the amount of 1562.24 from a NYC pension plan. What do I do with this?</p>

My question is which state gets to claim the early distribution income &#8212; NY or CT?? 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I can&#8217;t find a firm answer for this question, and I&#8217;m wondering where you all fall: is a 1099-Q distribution of $30,539.00 which covered all the student&#8217;s college expenses for 2019 considered part of his support?  </p>
<p>The student is 20 years old and his name is on the 529.  He has $3157 as W-2 earnings and $5861 in investment income.  </p>
