When checking the ‘Where is my Refund’ tool on irs.gov, the status has been ‘Processing’ for weeks. Calling the IRS is useless as ‘all circuits are busy’ is the constant message when calling them.

However, I read in Pub504, page 3 that you can be considered unmarried if you have a decree of separate maintenance as of 12/31.
Would this then mean that you are considered unmarried if you have a legal separation agreement?
